Boo Coffee Roasters - Top Kii - Kenya
Tasting notes: Blackcurrant, Blueberry, Pomegranate, Rosehip
Kii is a vibrant washed Kenyan coffee from the foothills of Mount Kenya in Embu, produced by smallholder farmers working with the Rungeto Farmers Cooperative Society. Grown at 1,600–1,800 metres, this lot combines the celebrated SL28, Ruiru 11, and Batian varieties. The cherries are carefully sorted, fermented for 16–20 hours, washed, and slowly dried on raised beds for 12–20 days, creating a clean and expressive cup. Expect intense notes of blackcurrant and blueberry, complemented by the bright acidity of pomegranate and a delicate rosehip finish. Juicy, structured, and fruit-forward, Kii is a beautifully precise Kenyan coffee that showcases the distinctive character of high-altitude washed coffees.
