Chelchele is an intensely expressive natural coffee from Banko Chelchele in Ethiopia’s celebrated Yirgacheffe region, produced by smallholder farmers at elevations of 1,900–2,300 metres. Featuring Ethiopian heirloom varieties 74110 and 74112, this Super Natural coffee undergoes an extended 36–48-hour fermentation before being slowly dried on raised beds for 27–30 days. This extended process creates exceptional fruit intensity and sweetness while maintaining the clarity associated with high-quality Yirgacheffe coffees. In the cup, vibrant pineapple and passion fruit lead into rich blueberry jam, followed by a distinctive cacao nib finish. Tropical, sweet, and full-bodied, Chelchele is an exciting Ethiopian coffee for those who enjoy intense natural processing.
