Zab coffee roaster – PERU - MINGA FAMILY
Tasting notes: Yellow Plum, Date, Dark Chocolate
Peru – Minga Family is a carefully produced washed coffee from the mountainous San Ignacio region of Cajamarca, northern Peru, grown at 1,800–1,950 metres. Produced by the Minga family from a blend of Bourbon, Caturra, and Pache varieties, this coffee reflects the high elevations, rich soils, and temperate climate that make Cajamarca such an important region for specialty coffee. The washed process brings clarity and balance to the cup, highlighting layers of sweet yellow plum, rich date, and dark chocolate. The result is a smooth and structured coffee with a combination of ripe fruit sweetness and deeper chocolate character. As members of the Café Solidario association, the Minga family contributes to a collective initiative focused on traceability, quality, sustainable farming, and stronger recognition for the work of Peruvian producers. Founded in 2017, Café Solidario brings together more than 250 producers and suppots farming communities through responsible agricultural practices and long-term development.
