Tanat - Eudis Orosco - Peru - SL9 - Washed
Tasting notes: Black Tea, Raspberry, Mandarin, Pomegranate
Eudis Orosco SL9 Washed comes from Tanat Coffee, cultivated by Eudis Orosco and Victoria Atao on their plots Bella Vista and Finca Paulette in Peru, guided by the ancestral traditions of the Incahuasi cooperative. Working in total symbiosis with the Peruvian ecosystem, the couple applies the principles of Inca agroforestry — rhythmed by the cycles of the moon — and community values of Minka and Ayni (collective work and mutual aid) to produce coffee that is as socially and environmentally meaningful as it is exceptional in the cup. They have successfully rehabilitated the rare Geisha Inca — a local mutation of the Ethiopian SL9 variety, once neglected for its low productivity but now thriving at high altitude. Cherries undergo a 24–36 hour dry fermentation in their own mucilage, stabilised by the cool climate, before a final washing. The result is a coffee of great elegance — opening with black tea, segueing into lively raspberry and pomegranate acidity, and balanced by a juicy mandarin sweetness.
