Tanat - Ngacha Estate - Kenya - Yellow Honey
Tasting notes: Redcurrant, Kumquat, Yellow Peach
Grown by Martin Muriuki at the family-run Ngacha Estate in Kenya’s Kirinyaga highlands, this 88-point coffee combines the iconic SL28 and SL34 varieties with a Yellow Honey process. The cup opens with vibrant redcurrant, bringing a lively and crisp acidity, followed by delicate kumquat with a subtle citrus zest character. Juicy yellow peach emerges toward the finish, adding sweetness and balance. Elegant and well-structured rather than overly fruit-forward, this filter-roasted coffee offers a refined expression of Kenyan coffee and the distinctive character of Kirinyaga.
