LiLo Coffee Roasters

LiLo Coffee Roasters opened in Osaka, Japan, in August 2014, when salon owner Hotta and coffee professional Keita Nakamura created a small café beneath LiLo’s hair salon. Nakamura became the driving force behind its roasting, drawing on experience that also includes judging coffee competitions.

The roastery’s approach begins with selecting green coffee for its individual qualities. Its interest extends across producing regions, including Asian origins, rather than limiting the range to a single flavour family or a narrow definition of specialty coffee.

LiLo uses Loring equipment and detailed records to adjust roasting to the condition of each lot, including changes in moisture and storage. Repeated tasting checks whether those decisions deliver the intended cup. Its range embraces different roast styles, making the Osaka roaster a place to explore both vivid, lighter coffees and more developed expressions of sweetness and body.
