Tanat Coffee Roasters
Tanat is a specialty coffee roaster from Paris, France, originally established as KAWA in 2016. Co-founder Alexis Gagnaire grew up around restaurants and developed his interest in specialty coffee while living in London. Returning to Paris, he helped build a roastery focused on sourcing distinctive coffees and understanding how to express them.
Gagnaire placed third at the 2019 World AeroPress Championship and second at the 2021 French Coffee Roasting Championship. That combination of brewing and roasting experience informs a programme that pays close attention to the finished cup.
Tanat’s range includes seasonal single origins, blends and limited coffees featuring unusual varieties or experimental processing. Producer relationships and the quality of green coffee guide selection, while precise roasting is adapted to the lot. Washed, natural and more adventurous processes give the Paris roaster a broad vocabulary of flavour.
