People Possession

People Possession is a specialty coffee project from Paris, France, created by Alexis Gagnaire and Tony. Gagnaire, also a co-founder of KAWA, now Tanat, brings a background shaped by restaurants, time in London and competition coffee. He placed third at the 2019 World AeroPress Championship and second at the 2021 French Coffee Roasting Championship.

The project approaches coffee with the freedom of a creative studio. Art, music and collaborations are part of its identity, while blending is used to construct new flavour experiences rather than simply reproduce a fixed taste throughout the year.

People Possession works across washed coffees, experimental processes and co-fermented lots. Selection and tasting focus on how flavours and textures interact, with roasting serving the intended composition. Its distinctive cans reflect a broader idea: carefully sourced coffee can be both a product of origin and a medium for creative expression.
