La Cabra Coffee Roasters

La Cabra is a Danish specialty coffee company founded in Aarhus, Denmark, by Esben Piper. What began as a café developed into a roasting business in 2013. Piper’s approach grew from tasting coffees closely and questioning how much roasting was needed to express the raw ingredient.

The company is associated with light Nordic profiles and an emphasis on clean, recognisable flavour. Its selection moves between washed coffees with delicate structure and more expressive natural or experimental lots, with the same interest in showing the character of each coffee.

Visits to producing countries and relationships with growers inform its seasonal buying. La Cabra has since expanded beyond Aarhus, including a presence in Copenhagen and New York, while keeping coffee selection and sensory evaluation central to the project. Its identity connects Scandinavian restraint in presentation with a detailed interest in origin, processing and flavour.
