September Coffee Company

September Coffee is a specialty roaster based in Ottawa, Canada, founded by coffee educator Kyle Rowsell and his wife, Natasha. Kyle’s background in coffee education and video brings an emphasis on explaining flavour and brewing, while Natasha contributes a creative perspective shaped by her background in dance.

Their roasting approach is light, with an emphasis on sweetness, bright acidity and a clear expression of the green coffee. A Loring S15 supports the work, but tasting and the character of each lot guide the final profile.

September buys through direct producer relationships where possible and works with selected importers for other coffees. Its seasonal releases identify the origin, variety and processing method, giving drinkers context for what they taste. The project brings together the founders’ creative and educational interests with a focused approach to sourcing and roasting contemporary specialty coffee.
