ZAB Coffee Roasters
ZAB Coffee Roasters is based in Montréal, Québec, Canada, and began roasting in 2016 under founder Edwin Chareton. His background in hospitality led him to professional roasting training at Coffee Lab International in Vermont. The name ZAB is a tribute to his mother, Elizabeth.
The project grew through its connection with Montréal’s Paquebot cafés and later established a roastery in Parc-Extension. Its identity combines the practical demands of busy cafés with an interest in making specialty coffee approachable.
ZAB’s sourcing is unusually easy to follow because it identifies the importers behind its coffees, including Crop to Cup, Apex and Semilla. Those partners connect the roastery with producers and regional expertise. The range spans blends and single origins, with different roast profiles for different tastes rather than a uniform light-roast approach. It offers a broad introduction to Québec roasting with clear information about the supply chain.
