Café TorQué - Fût de whisky - Colombia - Washed & Whisky Barrel Aged
Tasting notes: Chocolate-covered cherry, vanilla, whisky
Fût de whisky starts with washed Colombian Castillo and Caturra from smallholder producers in Huila’s Magdalena Valley. Café TorQué ages the green coffee for three months in emptied Canadian whisky barrels before roasting. The result combines chocolate-covered cherry, vanilla and whisky-like aromas, with a dessert-style character that can also work well with milk. The roaster describes the finished coffee as alcohol-free. This is roasted coffee, with its distinctive aromatic profile developed through barrel ageing.
