Tasting notes: Marzipan, nougat and vanilla

Monte Libano is part of the Valladárez family’s coffee operation in the Dipilto Mountains of northern Nicaragua, close to Honduras. Acquired in 2017 as the family expanded its focus on specialty coffee, the farm is managed by Olman Valladárez and grows Caturra alongside Maracaturra, Pacamara and Geisha.

This washed Caturra brings a confectionery profile of marzipan, nougat and vanilla. Proud Mary recommends it for both espresso and filter brewing, with starting ratios of 1:2.5 for espresso and 1:16 for filter. The family also supports local health initiatives and community events.
