El Vergel Condor is a washed decaf made from Red and Yellow Caturra supplied by La Roma in Tolima, Colombia. It belongs to El Vergel’s Partner Series, with a profile of plum, raisin and brown sugar.

The decaffeination uses ethyl acetate associated with sugarcane processing. Steaming or soaking prepares the beans before the EA wash removes caffeine. The coffee is then rinsed with clean water and dried to a stable moisture level. This is a separate stage from the coffee’s original washed preparation.

Hatch recommends filter or modern espresso for this selection. Its dried-fruit and brown-sugar notes make it a distinct alternative to the more aromatic El Paraiso decaf, while keeping both the farm source and the decaffeination method clear.
