The Mierisch family’s roots in Nicaragua reach back to the late 1800s, when German geologist Bruno Mierisch Boettiger settled in Matagalpa after working on the Nicaraguan National Railroad. Fincas Mierisch now comprises eleven farms in Nicaragua and three in Honduras, overseen by the family’s third and fifth generations.

Mama Mina, named for Wingo Mierisch’s great-grandmother Mirna McEwan, sits beside La Huella inside the Arenal Nature Reserve. Fog covers the farm for much of the day, naturally shading the trees and slowing cherry maturation. This washed Red Pacamara Petit lot uses smaller screen sizes while retaining the variety’s character, expressed as milk chocolate, vanilla and lemon candy.
