Proud Mary Coffee - EL SALVADOR | Esperanza | Kenia | Natural
Tasting notes: Blackcurrant, cherry, & grape
Esperanza Kenia Natural comes from Proud Mary Coffee, grown by the Pacas family at La Esperanza in Chalchuapa, El Salvador — a Proud Mary partner since 2012. When the family purchased the farm in 2010, it had been long neglected. Through a complete renovation and redesign program, La Esperanza has been transformed into a large variety garden, divided into 18 separate plots each growing a different variety. The hard work has paid off — coffees from La Esperanza have placed in the Cup of Excellence three times, most recently in 2025. The Kenia variety, thought to be a natural mutation of SL varieties from Kenya, is rare but gaining popularity for its bold, expressive character. Processed naturally, this lot is big, loud, and juicy, bursting with blackcurrant, cherry, and grape.
