Proud Mary Coffee - NICARAGUA | Buenos Aires | Maracaturra | Washed
Tasting notes: Honey, apricot and spice
Finca Buenos Aires lies in northern Nicaragua’s Dipilto Mountains, near the Honduran border. Founded by Luis Emilio Valladárez more than five decades ago, the 75-hectare farm is now managed by his son Olman. Coffee grows at elevations of 1,200 to 1,450 metres, with Maracaturra among the varieties cultivated.
Maracaturra combines Maragogipe and Caturra genetics. In this washed offering, Proud Mary highlights honey, apricot and spice, giving the coffee a stone-fruit-led profile with gentle sweetness. It can be brewed as filter or espresso, and offers a useful comparison with the natural Maracaturra from the same farm.
