Proud Mary Coffee - NICARAGUA | Buenos Aires | Maracaturra | Natural
Tasting notes: Blackberry, passionfruit and plum
The Valladárez family’s Finca Buenos Aires is located in the Dipilto Mountains of northern Nicaragua. Founded by Luis Emilio Valladárez and now managed by his son Olman, the farm grows coffee between 1,200 and 1,450 metres. Its varieties include the large-beaned Maracaturra, a cross of Maragogipe and Caturra.
Natural processing gives this offering a different character from the farm’s washed Maracaturra. Proud Mary identifies blackberry, passionfruit and plum in the cup, with brewing guidance for espresso and filter. The family’s activities extend beyond the farm through support for health initiatives and community celebrations.
