Kaffeelix - Eli Espinoza Filter
Tasting notes: Candied Orange, Floral, Bergamot, Chocolate, Spicy
Eli Espinoza's washed Geisha comes from Las Pirias in Chirinos, Peru, where his plots sit between 1,800 and 2,000 metres. Kaffeelix offers both filter and espresso roasts for this lot; the filter profile emphasizes candied orange, bergamot, florals, chocolate, spice, and a silky texture.
Eli arrived in Chirinos as a teenager to work as a coffee picker before acquiring his own land. His four hectares are mainly planted with Typica, Caturra, and Bourbon, with a smaller Geisha planting. After harvest, the cherries ferment in plastic bags in the shade for 24 hours, then the coffee is floated, pulped, held in tanks for 24–36 hours, and dried on raised beds for 10–14 days.
