Kaffeelix - Inza Regional Espresso
Tasting notes: Blackcurrant, Blood Orange, Apple, Cantaloupe
Inzá Regional brings together coffee from 290 members of the Asorcafe association in Cauca, Colombia. Founded in 2003 in Pedregal, Asorcafe helps small producers organize their specialty-coffee sales while supporting education and improvements in economic and social conditions. Members typically farm plots of 1.8 to 2 hectares on the Macizo Colombiano plateau at elevations reaching about 2,100 metres.
The regional field blend includes Caturra, Typica, Bourbon, Tabi, Castillo, and some Pink Bourbon. After picking, the coffee is depulped and fermented for 20 to 40 hours, washed and sorted, then dried for 8 to 15 days in parabolic dryers. Roasted for espresso, it delivers blackcurrant and blood orange with crisp apple and cantaloupe sweetness.
