Hydrangea Coffee Roasters - Purple Caturra - Mora Azul Washed - Monteblanco
Tasting notes: Blueberry, Raspberry, Milk Chocolate
Purple Caturra Mora Azul Washed Monteblanco comes from Rodrigo Sánchez Valencia at Finca Monteblanco in Huila, Colombia, at 1,730 MASL. This standout lot features a meticulous blueberry co-fermentation, beginning with a mother culture derived from Purple Caturra cherries, fermented for 190 hours with sugar, molasses, and concentrated blueberry juice. Once pulped, the cherries undergo a further 150-hour fermentation in sealed tanks before drying for 2–3 days in direct sun, followed by 15–18 days under shaded canopies. The result is a vibrant, fruit-forward cup with blueberry, cotton candy grapes, and smooth vanilla sweetness, a creamy body, and a bright, lingering finish.
