Datura Coffee Paris - Chelbesa Danche - Ethiopia - Local Landraces Washed
Tasting notes: Tangerine, Jasmine, Necterine, Earl Grey
Datura’s Chelbesa Danche Local Landraces is a carefully processed washed coffee from Gedeb in Ethiopia’s renowned Gedeo Zone, grown around 2,000 metres above sea level. Produced at the Danche washing station, this lot brings together coffees from local smallholder farmers and a diverse mix of Ethiopian landraces, including Dega, Kurume, and Wolisho. After harvesting, the cherries undergo a slow 45–60 hour fermentation in the shade before being washed and dried for 7–10 days under carefully controlled conditions. The high-altitude terroir, meticulous processing, and diverse genetic heritage contribute to the clean and distinctive character associated with Gedeb coffees. This lot is a great example of SNAP Specialty Coffee’s focus on precision, consistency, and deeper traceability within Ethiopia’s diverse coffee landscape.
