Regassa was born and raised in Bombe Village in Bensa, Sidama, and studied agricultural business management and plant science. He applies that training on his four-hectare farm, where more than 9,000 Krume 74158 trees grow beneath false-banana shade.

Regassa processes the coffee at his own drying station. After floaters and defects are removed, the cherries dry naturally in a single layer on raised beds for about 23 to 25 days, producing the raspberry, floral, and citrus profile identified by April.
