Even Coffee - ALO Murgo Mirriga
Tasting notes: Violet, Concord Grape, Spring Honey
ALO Murgo Mirriga is a high-elevation Ethiopian natural from the Murgo Station in Mirriga, grown at 2,360–2,480 metres above sea level. The station was founded by Tamiru Tadesse, founder of ALO Coffee and winner of the 2021 Cup of Excellence, with a focus on showcasing the quality and potential of coffees from Ethiopia’s Sidama region. This lot features the 74158 variety and is naturally processed to preserve its rich fruit and floral character.
Uniformly ripe cherries are carefully spread across raised African drying beds and dried for approximately 26 days, with the cherries turned hourly for even drying. The beds are shaded during the hottest part of the day, while the finished coffee is stored in GrainPro bags at 10–11% moisture before resting for at least 45 days prior to dry milling. In the cup, expect an expressive combination of violet, intense Concord grape, and a thick sweetness reminiscent of spring honey. Floral aromatics meet concentrated fruit and a rich, lingering sweetness, creating a beautifully layered natural Ethiopian coffee.
