Honduras – Efren Sanchez is a carefully produced washed Parainema from La Esmeranda farm in the El Paraíso municipality of Honduras, grown at 1,400 metres. Produced by Efren Nefrali Sanchez, this coffee combines the clean character of washed processing with a sweet and comforting flavour profile, bringing together juicy tangerine, rich butterscotch, and smooth cocoa. The cup offers a balanced combination of bright citrus and deeper sweetness, with a rounded character that makes it both expressive and approachable. Efren comes from a multigenerational coffee-growing family and learned the craft from his grandparents, whose knowledge continues to influence his approach to farming and processing. After years of working alongside his family, he began managing his own plot around a decade ago, focusing on producing high-quality coffee under his own name. His goal is to create distinctive coffees that showcase the potential of his farm while allowing him to reinvest in the operation and reach new markets. The 2025 harvest marks an important step in that journey as his first year exporting coffee through Semilla, helping his work reach coffee drinkers beyond Honduras.
