Mame - Kakindu (Espresso)
Tasting notes: Plum, Nectarine, Geranium Tea
Kakindu Espresso comes from Mame Coffee Roasters, sourced from Kakindu Estate — a 76-hectare farm in Kiambu County, Kenya, grown at 1,800–2,000 MASL. Originally established by British settlers, Kakindu is now part of Sasini, a publicly listed company with majority Kenyan ownership committed to community development, providing workers with housing, early childhood education, and wages above the legal minimum. This single-varietal SL28 undergoes the traditional Kenyan fully washed process — ripe cherries are depulped, fermented in water tanks for 12–48 hours, washed in clean water, and dried on raised beds. Roasted specifically for espresso, it delivers a vibrant, refined shot with notes of plum, nectarine, and delicate geranium tea.
