Sale price$34.00 Regular price$40.00

Tasting notes: Milk Chocolate, Red Grape, Blueberry

Abana Estate Heirloom Natural comes from Proud Mary Coffee, cultivated by the Omran family on their 300-hectare estate near Gera, Ethiopia, at 2,200 MASL. Founded in 2009 by Peter Omran — whose 25 years of humanitarian work across Africa brought him to Ethiopia — Abana Estate is managed today by his sons Michael and Chris. The name "Abana" translates to "our fathers" in Arabic, a tribute to the deep roots and heritage of wild Arabica coffee in Ethiopia. Beyond exceptional coffee, the Omran family funds a preschool, medical treatments, and community sports facilities in the surrounding area. This naturally processed heirloom lot delivers a sweet, luscious cup with rich notes of blackcurrant, plum, berry, and a bright tropical pineapple lift.

I thought it was really tasty. It wasn't as adventurous as I expected, but it was extremely flavorful and juicy. It's brewed over a Kalita wave and a Hario Switch. I also dialed it in for espresso; it pulls really well and blooms nicely. The notes are pretty spot on. It doesn't swing as wild as I expected, but it's still delicious, and I would get it again.
