Kunjin is a washed coffee from smallholder producers in Papua New Guinea’s Western Highlands. Families typically farm one- to two-hectare plots, growing coffee alongside household crops before cherries are processed at local stations. This community structure helps small producers reach specialty markets while preserving the region’s coffee diversity.

The Arusha, Typica and Bourbon varieties grow in the Wahgi Valley at 1,400–1,900 metres, where cooler temperatures slow cherry ripening and support sweetness and complexity. Chocolate almond and honeycomb notes sit in a smooth, silky cup, with Pilot’s recipes showing darker fruit, honey and tea-like nuances across filter, espresso and immersion brewing.
