HATCH - Honduras - Santa Lucia Triangulo - Geisha - Washed
Tasting notes: Floral, Lime, Peach, Green Tea
Triangulo is a Geisha plot within the Mierisch family’s Santa Lucia farm in Honduras, rather than a separate estate. The family has produced coffee in Nicaragua since 1908 and expanded its work in Honduras, where Santa Lucia earned a first-place Cup of Excellence result in 2019 with washed Geisha.
The Triangulo planting dates to 2018 and sits near the farm’s Casona Geisha plot. Both share rootstock, a cool and humid microclimate and broadly similar soils, but Triangulo is younger and has more shade. These differences accompany distinct cup profiles even within the same farm.
Santa Lucia’s wet mill handles the initial preparation, with the cupping laboratory, warehouse and drying patios located at Cerro Azul. This lot is a washed Geisha, with the plot identity retained throughout the description rather than treating Triangulo as a farm name.
The recorded profile combines floral notes, lime, peach and green tea. Hatch recommends filter brewing for this light-roasted 200g release, offering a clear comparison with the family’s other Geisha plots and preparations.
