Datura Coffee - Elida Estate Torre Gesha (Lamastus Family) - Panama - Natural SD
Tasting notes: Orange blossom, mango, nectarine, strawberry
Torre Natural SD is a Green Tip Gesha from Elida Estate, the historic Lamastus family farm on Panama’s Volcán Barú. Grown at 1,835 metres, this lot comes from a setting of deep volcanic soils, cool temperatures and persistent mountain mist. These conditions influence both the slow ripening of the cherries and their drying after harvest.
The cherries were harvested on April 10, 2026 and dried whole in the open highland air. SD refers to slow drying: the seed remains inside the fruit throughout this natural process. Rather than using the dark-room approach of the separate Torre DRD lot, this coffee develops under the estate’s outdoor mountain conditions.
Datura describes a cup with orange blossom, mango, nectarine and strawberry. Its rich, silky structure gives the fruit notes depth while retaining the floral character of Gesha. Comparing this lot with Torre Natural DRD is especially rewarding: both come from the same plot and elevation, yet their different drying environments bring distinct aromatic expressions to the cup.
