Datura Coffee - Elida Estate Torre Gesha (Lamastus Family) - Panama - Natural DRD
Tasting notes: Blackberry, candied fruit, violet, passion fruit
This natural Green Tip Gesha comes from the Torre plot at Elida Estate, grown at 1,835 metres in Panama’s Volcán Barú highlands. The Lamastus family’s long-established estate combines volcanic soils, cloud forest and cool mountain conditions. Torre’s terroir provides the setting for a lot that pairs the depth of natural processing with particularly careful drying.
Harvested on April 16, 2026, ripe burgundy cherries were selected and kept whole through the drying stage. DRD means Dark Room Dried: the fruit dries without direct sunlight, with managed airflow and a slow drying curve. The aim is to protect delicate aromatic compounds while retaining a clean, clearly defined cup.
Datura’s tasting card lists blackberry, candied fruit, violet and passion fruit. The combination brings darker berry sweetness and tropical fruit alongside a distinct floral element. This is the dark-room expression of Torre, separate from the open-air Natural SD lot. Tasting the two together offers a focused comparison of drying methods within a single Gesha-growing plot.
