Datura Coffee - Elida Estate Plano Gesha (Lamastus Family) - Panama - Washed ASD / DRD

This Plano lot brings together the Lamastus family’s Green Tip Gesha and a carefully managed washed process at Elida Estate in Panama. The plot sits at 1,700 metres on the slopes of Volcán Barú, where volcanic soils and a mountain climate shape the coffee’s development. Elida dates to 1918, and part of the estate lies within the national park, surrounded by cloud forest.

Harvested on March 6, 2026, ripe cherries were pulped on the evening of picking and fermented using the estate’s ASD protocol, with rotation to keep the coffee mass developing evenly. The parchment then dried slowly in a dark room with controlled airflow. This DRD stage limits direct sunlight while preserving the washed coffee’s aromatic definition.

Datura’s tasting notes combine orange blossom and tuberose with red apple and lemon tea. The floral character is balanced by a rounded, creamy structure, making Plano an interesting counterpart to the more fruit-driven Torre naturals. It is a coffee for exploring how plot and drying method can create distinct expressions of Gesha from the same estate.
