Datura Coffee - Elida Estate Falda Gesha (Lamastus Family) - Panama - Washed CRD
Tasting notes: Bergamot, peach, rose, jasmine
Falda Washed CRD is a Green Tip Gesha grown at 1,850 metres on Elida Estate in Panama. The Lamastus family cultivates this coffee on the slopes of Volcán Barú, where cool temperatures, volcanic soils and surrounding forest contribute to slow cherry maturation. Falda offers a washed expression of this estate’s Gesha, with drying handled in a temperature-controlled setting.
The lot was harvested on April 6, 2026. Ripe cherries were pulped on the evening of harvest, followed by fermentation and washing. CRD stands for Cold Room Dried: the final drying takes place slowly in a cold room. This controlled finish is central to the identity of the lot and distinguishes it from Elida’s dark-room and open-air dried coffees.
Datura identifies bergamot, peach, rose and jasmine in the cup. Citrus and stone fruit sit alongside a strongly floral aromatic profile. For drinkers exploring Elida Estate, Falda offers a useful contrast to the natural Torre lots, placing the emphasis on the clarity of washed processing and the influence of a carefully managed drying environment.
