Rogue Wave Coffee - Ethiopia - Musa Abalulesa Oma Fontule - Washed

Musa Abalulesa farms in the Limu region of Ethiopia, where his coffee grows at approximately 2,100 metres. This 2026 washed selection combines varieties 74110 and 74165 from Musa and 21 smallholders. After winning a national coffee competition in 2006, Musa reinvested his prize in the farm. Direct exports became possible again in 2016, and the premiums from those relationships have supported new seedlings, drying facilities and other improvements.

The cup offers clementine and raspberry alongside red grape, melon and a distinctive juniper note. Washed processing gives this bright, fruit-led profile a clear expression across filter and espresso. Rogue Wave recommends at least three weeks of rest after roasting. For filter, start with a 1:16–17 coffee-to-water ratio at 94°C; for espresso, try a 1:2.5–2.7 yield in 26–30 seconds and adjust to taste.
