Alto Naranjal is a 12 hectare plot on a steep mountainside outside Buesaco in Colombia’s Nariño region, where Leonardo Loaiza grows coffee at around 2,000 metres above sea level. The high elevation and strong sun exposure allow the cherries to mature slowly, developing the dense sweetness and concentrated character for which the region is known.
This washed lot brings together Caturra, Colombia and Castillo varieties. La Cabra describes a complex cup with bright citrus, crisp red berry acidity and a deep dried fruit sweetness. Roasted lightly, it offers clarity and intensity for both filter brewing and espresso.
