Alo Coffee Murgo Yellow Honey is an exceptional Ethiopian coffee from Murgo in Bensa, Sidama, produced by Tamiru Tadesse at an impressive elevation of 2380–2480 metres. Alo Coffee was founded with a mission to showcase the extraordinary quality of Sidama coffee, and its dedication to meticulous processing has earned international recognition. This lot features the JARC 74158 variety, an Ethiopian cultivar developed for disease resistance and known for its intriguing sweetness and floral, fruit-forward character. Ripe cherries are carefully handpicked, floated, and depulped before being slowly shade-dried on raised beds with a thin layer of mucilage retained on the parchment. This Yellow Honey process allows the coffee to absorb the distinctive flavours of the mucilage while developing greater sweetness and complexity. In the cup, expect elegant aromas of lily, violet, and peach, followed by flavours of violet, peach, tangerine, and oolong. Best enjoyed as a filter coffee.
