DE MELLO - Ethiopia Alo HSF3 72
Tasting notes: Grape Jelly, Blood Orange, Purple Flower
Ethiopia Alo HSF3 72 is a vibrant and highly expressive coffee from Hatessa Village in Bensa, Sidama, produced by Tamiru Tadesse of Alo Coffee at an impressive 2,320–2,460 metres above sea level. Tamiru’s dedication to quality has earned international recognition, including a first-place finish in his very first Cup of Excellence submission. This micro-lot undergoes Alo’s HSF3 process, with ripe cherries sealed in tanks for 72 hours of anaerobic fermentation before being carefully dried on raised beds for 25 days and rested in sealed GrainPro bags for at least 45 days. The high elevation and extended processing create a remarkably complex and fruit-forward cup. Expect lush flavours of grape jelly and blood orange, complemented by an elegant purple floral character. Lightly roasted to highlight its vibrant aromatics, this coffee is a distinctive expression of Bensa, Sidama.
