Aricha Washed comes from the Aricha Washing Station in Yirgacheffe, one of Ethiopia’s most celebrated coffee-growing regions. Situated among fertile soils, mountainous forests, and experienced smallholder farmers, Aricha has become known for producing consistently complex and floral coffees. The washing station was purchased by Faysel Abdosh in 2018 after years of decline, and he spent more than a year restoring the facility through his trading company, Testi Coffee. His efforts quickly paid off, with coffees from Aricha earning recognition and attracting the attention of specialty coffee exporters. Today, the station is regarded as a standout producer in Yirgacheffe.

Smallholder coffees from the Aricha community are brought to the wet mill, where microlots are combined, carefully sorted, and processed using traditional washed Ethiopian methods. The coffee is then spread across raised African drying beds and dried slowly under the sun until it reaches the desired moisture level. In the cup, Aricha Washed showcases the bright, sweet, and tea-like character associated with classic washed Yirgacheffe coffees. Expect vibrant acidity, delicate florality, and a refreshing lemonade quality, balanced by the sweetness of honeyed black tea. It is an elegant and lively coffee with a clean, refreshing profile that makes it especially enjoyable as a morning brew.
