Even if winter stays mild, this Peruvian Geisha delivers plenty of warmth in the cup. Recently arrived and already turning heads, this lot stands out for its clarity, balance, and expressive fruit profile.
Sourced through a new producing relationship in Peru, Shipago offers exceptional value for a Geisha of this quality. Available in 250g bags, as espresso, and also in green coffee format, it’s an accessible way to experience one of the world’s most celebrated varieties.
In the cup, expect vibrant notes of apricot, pineapple, and mixed berries, layered over a refined structure and bright, elegant acidity.
The producing farm dedicates approximately 20 hectares to varieties including Geisha, Bourbon, Catuai, Catimor, and Pacamara, surrounded by over 200 hectares of preserved natural forest.
Processing begins with a 24-hour whole cherry fermentation. The cherries are then floated to remove defects, pulped, and fermented for an additional 96 hours. Despite the extended fermentation time, the profile remains remarkably clean and transparent, with no overpowering process-driven flavors — just pure clarity and expressive fruit character.
This is a Geisha that balances complexity and drinkability beautifully, performing well as both espresso and filter.
