David Flores is the general manager and legal representative of El Morito, a new-to-us independent growers group from Northern Peru that we have just started buying coffee from this season. David has been working in coffee since he was young. Besides leading El Morito, he also owns and operates his own farm: La Neblina, which is situated at 1,850-1,900 masl. There, he primarily grows Sidra, Gesha, and Marshell. We had the opportunity to cup through a selection of El Morito lots in September, and this Sidra immediately stood out on the cupping table with its deep sweetness and articulate stone fruit notes. This is the first Peruvian Sidra we have roasted and we are excited to see one of our favourite varieties start to pop up in Peru.
