Subtext Coffee Roasters – Colombia Ximena Cifuentes

While this is the first time we have purchased a coffee marketed under Ximena Cifuentes’ name, we have been enjoying her work for years now. She is the daughter of Maria Delgado from whom we’ve been buying from for five years. Ximena has been working alongside her mother on their small 1.5 hectare farm in Villa Moreno in Buesaco, Nariño. This washed Caturra is a testament to the work and quality control she puts into producing and processing her coffee. It also demonstrates why we love well produced washed Caturras, showing that it can go up against celebrated varieties like Pink Bourbon. This lot is deeply sweet, vibrant, and shows great fruit complexity.
